Heart-led End-of-Life Support
What is an End-of-Life Doula?
An End-of-Life Doula is a trained, non-medical support person who offers guidance, care, education, and emotional presence to people with life-limiting diagnoses and their loved ones.
The person nearing the end of life is like a traveller. A doula is a companion for that journey, a grounded presence who walks beside the individual and their family, helping them feel safe, informed, and supported.
This role is distinct from a carer. A doula provides:
Compassionate listening
Support for planning and choices aligned with your values
Energetic and emotional guidance
Ritual, presence, and companionship
Whether you're preparing for death, supporting a loved one, or processing loss, a doula holds space for what matters most.
Holding sacred space for the soul’s final journey
“What if we treated death like birth?” These words from death educator Jane Whitlock stir something deep within me.
What if we greeted the end of life with the same reverence, care, and presence we offer new life? What if we created space for the dying that was filled with love, sacred stillness, and soul-level support?
This is the heart of my work.
I believe death is not just a medical event it’s a deeply meaningful and spiritual transition. As someone trained in Reiki, energy medicine, and holistic end-of-life care, I offer intuitive, heart-led support for those who are dying and for the loved ones walking beside them.
My role is not to fix or save. It’s to witness, to hold, and to walk gently with you through one of life’s most sacred thresholds. Whether I am offering quiet presence, emotional support, energy work, or ceremony creation, my intention is always the same: to bring peace, steadiness, and sacredness to the moment of letting go.
Gentle End-of-Life Support
Each person’s journey is unique, and so is the support required to walk beside them.
Sometimes I am simply there to sit quietly, offering calm and grounded presence. Other times, I hold space for emotion to be expressed, or offer gentle touch that brings comfort to the body and nervous system. For those open to it, I can also offer subtle energetic support, using techniques like Reiki to help ease anxiety, soothe tension, and create space for letting go.
Many of us carry more than just physical discomfort near the end of life—there may be emotional weight, spiritual questions, or energetic restlessness. My approach is always intuitive and tailored to the moment, whether through holding a hand, soft breathwork, or placing my hands gently at the heart or head to support peace.
I don’t see someone who is sick or broken. I see a whole person on a threshold still very much alive preparing to cross into another chapter. My role is to meet them there with compassion, stillness, and respect.
This work is deeply personal for me. When I sat beside my own mother as she prepared to pass, I felt how meaningful this kind of presence can be. I held her hand, offered comfort, and surrounded her with love and calm. That experience affirmed everything I now bring into my doula work.
What My Role Can Look Like
End-of-life support is never one-size-fits-all. Each family and each transition is different. My role is shaped around what’s needed and always begins with an open conversation.
Some of the stages I commonly support include:
Living with a terminal illness
Gentle companionship, emotional support, intuitive guidance, energy work, or creating space for honest conversations and planning.Palliative Care
Calm presence, emotional grounding, energy healing, support for family members, and tending to the emotional and spiritual landscape of this time.Active Dying / End of Life
Bedside presence, gentle touch, quiet vigil holding, offering comfort and sacredness as the soul prepares to transition. After Death
Support in the sacred window after death, holding space for family, and helping navigate what needs to happen next.Funeral Planning Support
Assistance making phone calls, coordinating logistics, or simply offering a calm presence while you navigate arrangements. I can support in organising or co-creating ceremony elements that feel meaningful to your family.Ritual & Ceremony
Creating gentle, personalised rituals at the bedside, after passing, or to mark transitions and honour grief.Bereavement Support
Ongoing presence through grief. This may include emotional check-ins, energy work, or holding space as the family adjusts in the weeks and months that follow.
I'm here to help guide you through what needs doing and connect you with the right people be it a funeral director, celebrant, or someone to support with legal documents and planning. You're not alone in any of this.
My Story
My path into end-of-life work unfolded naturally through my Reiki practice and deepened profoundly as I supported my mum in her final days. She was in the active dying phase with dementia confused and afraid. I connected with her through Reiki and soul-to-soul communication. As I offered energy work, I felt her soften. Her fear gave way to calm, her body relaxed, and her spirit began to accept what was happening.
Even as she became non-verbal, I stayed tethered to her offering presence and comfort until her final breath. I held one of her hands, while my dad held the other.
That sacred transition changed me. I realised I wasn’t just holding space for my mum I was holding space for the whole family, for the process itself. Becoming an End-of-Life Doula was simply the formal recognition of what I already knew in my bones: I am here to walk this path with others.
